Caelum's Past and its Creation [WIP] Names of the Gods, individuals, etc... may be changed and/or altered later on.
Introduction In this post I shall discuss the different Gods and Deities that have had a helping hand in the creation of Caelum, the big wars, and just a general field of where Caelum stands currently.
In the Beginning Caelum was created by not one, but two powerful immortal beings. One is known as the All-Maker, the Creator, or simply known as God. This being is stated to be good and represents life. The other powerful being is known as the Devil or Satan. This being however is stated to be evil and represents death. How they came to be is long and confusing, but to shorten it up they were formed by the Charred Council during a massive explosion billions of years ago known simply as, The Big Bang. Before this universe came to into existance there was one before it and one before that and so on. The Big Bang is the cosmological way of rebuilding a new when it expands to such a vast degree that its center can no longer contain the outer sectors of the universe. Basically, the Big Bang is a rapid expansion of matter from a state of extremely high density and temperature that eventually the center of a universe is unable to contain. The universe basically collapses on itself and when eventually released of the preasure it explodes, expanding its matter everywhere thus destroying the universe, but rebuilding anew in the process. With each rebuild though there is always a single, almighty entity that survives it all every single time and that is the Charred Council and it is said to be the creator of the Multi-verse whom controls and watches over not just a single universe, but many others as well within creation. Each universe is given a Creator or Creators and that is what God and Satan represent. Pawns of the Charred Council. God and Satan create a perfect harmony together as the concept of good can't occur without the concept of evil. Yin and Yang, so to speak. The entirety of Caelum was mainly constructed by God, using the majority of his powers to do so as he seeped life into the planet and elsewhere. Satan on the other hand helped in matters of decay and death, finishing the circle of life and death. Something rather simple and easy to do, and didn't waste the majority of his power to do. Giving him only minuscule role in constructing Caelum as a whole unlike his counterpart, God.
The First War Peace however did not occur for Satan as he began to feel a deep hatred for God whom he thought was the Charred Council's favourite. The reasons are still unknown, but one possible reason would be jealously and greed. A war would break out with Satan creating an army known to mortals as Demons, evil and vile creatures whom come in all shapes and sizes. God on the other hand created entities of his own known as the Angels, beautiful winged humanoid beings whom are made of peace and love. The war for Caelum and the universe lasted billions of years with the battle taking place all across the cosmos. It was this war that shaped the world of Caelum and beyond, creating other planets, stars, etc... As the war was reaching its end a major upset occurred. Lucifer, one of nine Archangels betrayed his siblings by killing one of his brothers and then joining the forces of Satan. This turned the tide of battle in favour of the Demons because with an Archangel by their side they've gained a powerful ally that is as powerful or more so than the most powerful of Demons, Demon Kings and with Lucifer knowing all of the Archangels secrets, the war was about to end in favour of the Demons. God had, but one option... to sacrifice himself to the Charred Council... God begged for the Charred Council's to help spare the fate of his most beloved creation and to not allow Satan to win. The Charred Council agreed to step forward, but on one condition... he would sacrifice himself for his cause. God reluctantly agreed to the terms and thus he gave up his powers, but before he did so he was able to form two magical Planes. One for himself and his followers and one for Satan and his. These are known as Heaven and Hell. With God and Satan now out of the picture, Lucifer took command of Satan's armies and continued to fight on the floating rock that was Caelum at the time. It had seemed that the Charred Council had forgotten their word for the battle continued to rage on for many years to come still, but eventually they did keep their word. Out from the center of the universe came forth the Four...
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse came soaring down from the cosmos, crashing down into the war stricken Caelum with fiery. The Horsemen are incredibly powerful beings whom work directly for and with the Charred Council and their pressence are scattered through the different universes, etc... they are clearly second most powerful beings in existance with only the Charred Council above them in terms of power. Their names are Conquest, War, Famine, and Death. Conquest, the Rider of the White Horse, Glory, represents to vanquish and conquer. He wields a powerful bow when going into battle. War, the Rider of the Red Horse, Ruin, represents war and mass slaughter. He wields a large powerful great sword. Famine, the Rider of the Black Horse, Fear, represents famine. He wields a spear with a set of scales near its tip. Finally there is Death, the Rider of the Pale Horse, Despair, who represents death. Death typically wields a large scythe. The Four Horsemen vanquished the Demons by going to war with them. Eventually the demons were destroyed and famine would seep across the land as whatever early life there was on Caelum disappeared. Death would then make sure that the spirits and souls of the Demons would enter Hell while the Angels were placed within Heaven. The Horsemen would then return to the Charred Council and await for when they are needed once more. This war would forever be known as the First War and is the stepping stone of what is to come...
The Fae and the First Gods As the war ended and once God settled within Heaven as a spirit of sorts, a lot of of his wasted and sacrificial power returned to him. He didn't want to see Caelum be left to dust, so with his regained strength he was able to create a group of Godly beings to help control Caelum, to flourish his greatest creation with living life and to allow it to grow and prosper. These Godly beings ended up being known as the Aedra or the Divines. They are nine Aedra in total with those being: Akatosh, Arkay, Dibella, Julianos, Kynareth, Mara, Stendarr, Zenithar, and Talos (whom came much later during the creation of mankind.) It was these beings that gave shape and life into the land, creating the many different animal species we now see today. They also created the first mortal beings, the Fae. The Fae are the magical humanoids that call Caelum home whom include the many races of Elves, Gnomes, Hobbits, Dwarves, Giants, Sprites, Fairies, Pixies, Spriggans, Centaurs, Mermaids, etc... Akatosh himself, the leader of the Aedra, created a group of immortal beings known as the Dragons. They shall have a major impact upon the world of Caelum in time. Caelum lived rather peacefully, with the many variations of Fae living throughout the land.
Satan however still had the majority of his powers at hand, but he couldn't escape Hell no matter how hard he tried. So, with a vengeful heart he too would created his own powerful beings from Hell, to match God's creations, the Aedra. He may not be able to enter the mortal world, but he can surely influence it. His creations are known as the Daedra. A group of powerful God-like beings with immense power that are said to rival those of the nine (eight at the time) Aedra. They are exactly fourteen Daedra with those being: Azura, Boethiah, Clavicus Vile, Hermaeus Mora, Hircine, Jyggalag, Malacath, Maphala, Mehrunes Dagon, Meridia, Molag Bal, Namira, Sanguine, and Sheogorath. These destructive forces began to create their own "Fae" with some of their creations including: Ogres, Orcs, Goblins, Gremlins, Imps, Cyclopes, Were-beasts, Vampires, Beast Warriors, Harpies, Trolls, Minotaurs, Satyrs, Gorgons, and other such humanoid creatures. Ultimately these were known as the Unseelie Fae with those created by the Aedra, the Seelie Fae.
The Seelie War The Daedra's influence upon the world was small and minuscule for the most part, but like all things this did not last for long. A large scale war would eventually break out with the Unseelie Fae fighting against the Seelie Fae with both of their creators going at it: the Aedra versus the Daedra. Blood filled the land and millions of creatures and beings were killed and wiped out, and the war itself lasted for thousands of years. The war was ended when the Aedra figured out a way to banish the Daedra into their own individual Planes of Oblivion, but at what cost? In turn the Aedra too were sent away, but instead of Planes in Oblivion they were sent to the Sky Planes, Planes in the sky that can be seen from Caelum as bright coloured patterns in the night sky. With the war finally over, the Fae were able to move on and go their own separate ways with some of the Unseelie Fae betraying their creators and turning for the side of good or prefering to stay neutral. With all the blood and death that had been caused because of the war and the intense magic that had been used and spent, a new rise of Gods were created in the aftermath and will eventually become the new leaders of Caelum as now Caelum was left leaderless. And thus... the Titans and the Zodiac Dragons were born.
Titans and the Dragon Gods The Titans were created by the erosion of the land itself, the blood and magical properties of the Unseelie Fae as well the Daedra themselves. The Titans are gigantic Godly beings with all of them being as tall as mountains. Their general appearance is very Golem-like and each Titan has a different element and look associated with them. They are thirteen Titans in total and their names are: Atlas, Coes, Cirus, Cronos, Epimetheus, Gaia, Hyperion, Oceanus, Perses, Echidna, Polyphemus, Rhea, and Typhon. The leader of the mighty Titans was Cronos with Atlas not being too far behind in terms of status. Gaia was the peace giver and took responsiblity for the world. She made sure the Fae of Caelum were happy and ultimately safe from harm. Typhon and Echidna are able to shape shift into monstrous monsters and eventually they alone would create a whole host of new creatures to fill the land in which Echidna gave birth too. Polyphemus became the major deity for the Unseelie Fae, and Oceanus took control of the world's oceans. Perses took control of fire and Epimetheus, earth. Together they brought peace to the now rebuilding Caelum, after the horrible Aedra and Daedra war which has been now known as the Seelie War.
The Zodiac Dragons on the other hand were created from purely of the magical properties of the Seelie Fae and absorbed the remaining energies of the Aedra themselves. The Zodiac Dragons are rather majestic God-like beings who like their namesake resemble mighty Dragons. With Zodiac Dragon having a distinct look and element attributed to them. They are twelve Zodiac Dragons in total with those being: Aquarius, Aries, Cancer, Capricorn, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Pisces, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Taurus, and Virgo. At the time of their forming the leader of Zodiac Dragons was Aquarius and is the strongest of the entire twelve (he is later killed during the Great War) with Libra coming in at a close second. With Virgo being Libra's mate she is considered the third in charge. The Zodiac Dragons at this point in time were mainly worshipped by a few races of Seelie Fae who respected and looked up to them due to their magical properties and general kindness. The Zodiac Dragons would also give rise to one of the most powerful creatures of Caelum, the Dragons. They gained a massive influence over the Fae thanks to the Zodiac Dragons. Dragons are powerful reptilian creatures of usually massive sizes in which come in numerous varieties and shapes. The Dragons spread to nearly every continent on Caelum and in some places, were treated as Gods themselves.
Birth of Mankind It was during this time of peace and prosperity that the Atlanteans (whom evolved from Elves by absorbing the enhanced magic and blood filled earth from both sides of the Seelie War), whom are easily the most intelligent, most magical race, began to do experiments on biological engineering. Ever since the Seelie War, their lust for Godhood has been unquenchable. They too wanted and desired such power, and to do so they needed to practice on creating life... the ultimate showcase of being a God in their eyes. Their first creations were small, snake-like animals. Later on they eventually created the perfect organism using a wide range of different sciences and magic to do so. They nicknamed these creations, Serpents, but they were not at all snake-like. It was these new creatures that ended up becoming the bulk of the Atlantean army and some were used as guards, protectors, and other similar roles. Atlanteans have also created gigantic aquatic beasts of massive proportions. These giants now protect their home, Atlantis, surrounding the waters around the islands. However, their ultimate creation came from, Mankind, whom in time would become the most successful and the powerful most race on Caelum.
With the human race now spreading across Caelum like wildfire, wars would break out between the humans and the Fae, both Seelie and the Unseelie. The humans at this time were not highly intelligent and they only cared about spreading their influence across the lands. The humans were fierce, had numbers and ultimately determination, but the Fae had great magical prowess and natural battle skill. Humans evolved quickly and over time became smarter, wiser, and started to form their own cities and governments. In time the Fae and humans would become used to one another and formed alliances. As humans were becoming more numerous another incident was occurring. The Titans, the immortal beings in charge of ruling Caelum were about to go to war themselves, but this war was started because of revenge. Rhea, the wife of Cronos had bared the Titan king numerous children, but with each one that was born Cronos would deem them to be eaten and consumed. This was due of fear of him being un-ruled by his children. However, when the last of his children was deemed to be eaten, Rhea hid the child with Gaia to aid as the child's protector. As Cronos appeared before Rhea she wrapped a rock shaped as a child in a towel and hand it to Cronos. Cronos not knowing better ate the rock, thinking it was his child. This treacherous move by Rhea would be the beginning of the end for Titans, for the child that she hid was, Zeus, whom in time would dethrone his father to become the new ruler of Caelum though before that he needed to free his siblings from the stomach of his father, Cronos...
The Great Titan War Zeus was raised by Gaia who nurtured his desire to free his brothers and sisters from Cronos. Zeus' intentions, however, were not just bent on freeing his siblings, but also defeating the Titans and taking the throne of his father. When the time came, Zeus freed his siblings who were now full grown and had declared war on the Titans. They would later be known as the Gods or Olympians and they are exactly thirteen of them: Zeus, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, Hestia, Athena, Ares, Apollo, Aphrodite, Artemis, Demeter, Hephaestus, and Hermes. The Titans as a whole saw Zeus' desire for revenge and rule over mortals as intolerable, seeing that peace and prosperity for Caelum would forever be lost if the Gods win. When the war began, the Titan Atlas took lead as he charged the Titans into war. The war was so destructive that the mortal world was once again changed. Mountains were hurled like rocks and the world was engulfed in flames. Many of the Fae went into hiding and underground shelters of sorts were constructed to protect themselves.
As the war raged on, the Zodiac Dragons decided to join as well, feeling that with their pressence felt the war can end quickly and peace could finally return. The Gods were in fear that the Zodiac Dragons would join the Titans due to their history together, but to their surprise they decided to join the Gods. The Zodiac Dragons felt that the reign of the Titans needed to end for the majority of them are unpredictable and only a select few can be considered good natured while they felt that the Gods can do a much grander impact on Caelum in a positive aspect. The tides of war was now fully in the Gods' favour and the Titans needed a way to defeat the Gods' trump card, the Zodiac Dragons. Typhon had an idea, but it would have required to use the majority of his and his wife's strength to do so. To create their own dragonic beings to help aid them in their quest to defeat the Gods. It would take some time to do so, but the other Titans urged them to at least try. With that, Typhon and Echidna left the battle and the Titans were down two. This ultimately lend to the downfall of Atlas, the strongest of the mighty Titans. With Atlas gone this crippled the Titans greatly and now it seemed their was no hope for them, but then when all hope was lost Typhon and Echidna returned and with them... the Dragon Aspects.
Only five Dragon Aspects were created, but they had the ability to match two or three Zodiac Dragons, making them a lot more powerful than them. The Dragon Aspects are: Neltharion the Earth-Warder, Nozdormu the Timeless, Alexstrasza the Life-Binder, Malygos the Spell-Weaver, and Ysera the Dreamer. Neltharion had complete control over the Earth from all its elements and everything that grew and prospered from it. He had command over the winds, water, earth, and everything in between. Nozdormu had the power of time and had the ability to manipulate it at will. He is able to enter the past and the future, but he couldn't enter the past to such a vast degree because his power of moving through time didn't allow him to enter the time period of which he wasn't accounted for. Alexstrasza has the power of life over everything within Caelum. She can give life to an inanimate object or take away life to lesser beings. Malygos has control over magic and all its properties and Ysera can into a realm known as the Dreamworld, a powerful place where she can enter another individuals soul and guide them.
The Titans now had the strength to battle the Gods on even grounds and for the first time in the war they had the upper hand, but the lost of Atlas was still heavy in their hearts and the battle could have been won by now if he wasn't defeated. The Titans even managed to kill the Zodiac Dragon's leader, Aquarius. With one of the most powerful allies now gone, Zeus knew that his rebellion was not going to last much longer. He needed a way to defeat the Titans now or risk the wrath of the Titans when the Gods lost. Zeus stepped away from the battlefield, but not before coming up with a defensive plan that will allow the other Gods to survive the onslaught during his departure. The Gods and the Zodiac Dragons held on well, shockingly, but the Titans and the Dragon Aspects were pushing through their defenses. Many of the Gods and Dragons had no idea what Zeus was doing away from the battlefield, but their worry would soon be quenched as Zeus managed to figure out a way to not only defeat the enemy, but also banish them from Caelum. Zeus was able to tap into a hidden magic that was left on Caelum after the First War and with such knowledge he forged a blade. A mighty sword that was forged from the Heavens. Zeus shall forever call this ultimate weapon the Blade of Olympus, a weapon that had the power to kill a God. With the weapon forged, Zeus returned to the battlefield and stood before the Titans and Aspects, and with a sudden strike of his sword into the earth, a massive blinding light engulfed Caelum. When the light subsided the Titans and the Dragon Aspects were no more, they had vanished...
Recovery The Great Titan War was over and it was now time for the Gods to take their seats as the new Gods, the new rulers of Caelum. They had a lot of work to do ahead of them for the damage that had been caused was great. Thankfully for the populace they hid in underground cities and suffered very little, but it was not safe for them to venture out into the open world above. It would take many years until Caelum was once again hapitable and during this time the Gods had divided themselves into specific roles. The most powerful of the Gods had the most important roles. Poseidon become the Lord of the Sea, Hades became the Caretaker of the Dead and created a hidden realm beneath Caelum for such a task, and Ares took control of war and all its undoings. Zeus on the other hand decided to rule the skies and ultimately became the leader of the Gods. It was finally time for Caelum to be populated by life and so Artemis returned the animals and the creatures while Athena made sure the Fae and humans know it was safe once again. Peace would once again return to Caelum and everyone lived peacefully with another for countless generations. Even today it would seem Caelum is now at its most prosperous, but things aren't always what they seem...
